Meditation

 

Meditation is the art of awareness.
Awareness drawn internally and externally.  

Observe your thoughts, let them come in freely, observe the rise and fall of each thought, the tension the thought brings up in your body.  Let the thought be there for a moment and let it go.

Sound meditation.  Listen to nature sounds, to the waves coming and leaving.  Breathe in, breathe out.  Let the nature sound transcend your body to be part of air and space.

OM. Chanting of OM allows for your brain to get a rhythm and train to the rhythm.  Each time you pay attention to your breath, as you inhale and exhale you focus internally, and this in turn turns on the parasympathetic nervous system your calm state of flow and your rest and relaxation, and you turn off the sympathetic nervous system your state of stress.
